Grasp horizontal bar with underhand grip. Hang down and flex arms a little. Pull body up until chin passes bar. Keep elbows close to sides. Return slowly, keep arms slightly flexed and repeat. Using shoulderwide grip is the most common practise. Exercise can also be done with hands completely together or wide apart.
